LAQI attaches great importance to respecting your privacy and your confidentiality choices. We are committed to building strong, long-lasting relationships with our clients based on trust and transparency. In line with this philosophy, the protection of your personal data is essential to us and we would like to inform you via this privacy policy about how we collect and process this data.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains in detail the types of personal data we may collect about you when you use the LAQI website and its applications, (hereinafter referred to as the "Services", the "Site" or the "Sites") as well as for other interactions you may have with us online or offline through other written channels,  oral or digital.

It is likely that we will need to update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes, but you are welcome to check the Policy whenever you wish.

We hope the information below answers any questions you may have. If this is not the case, please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. WHO ARE WE?

LAQI SAS whose trade name is LAQI and whose registered office is located at 36 avenue de la Résistance, 93100 MONTREUIL – France ("LAQI") acts as data controller.

2. LEGAL BASES FOR COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA

European data protection law sets out the "legal bases" under which a company like ours is allowed to process data about you. We take care to ensure that we have a legal basis for all data processing we carry out. Our legal bases include, but are not limited to:Performance of the contract with you –

In certain circumstances, we need your personal data to comply with our contractual obligation to deliver the products you have ordered – or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. For example, if you purchase and/or rent our products on our Site, we need your name and contact information so that we can communicate with you and deliver the products to you. In this case, the communication of your personal data will be necessary to deliver the products and provide you with the requested information and services, as well as to carry out the activities described above. If you do not provide us with your personal data, we will not be able to provide you with the products and services requested.

Legal obligation – Sometimes the law states that we must collect and use your data. For example, we may transfer data of persons involved in fraudulent or criminal activities to the authorities, or tax laws (e.g. VAT) may require us to retain data relating to orders and payment for our products. In this case, the communication of your personal data will be necessary to deliver the products and provide you with the requested information and services and to carry out the activities described above. If you do not provide us with your personal data, we will not be able to provide you with the products and services requested.

Legitimate interests – this is a technical term in data protection law, which means that we have a good reason to use your data without it affecting your rights. We may use your data to pursue our legitimate interests in a reasonably foreseeable manner in the performance of our business without affecting your rights, freedoms and interests. For example, we will send you promotional communications about our service, subject to your legal rights to indicate whether you wish to receive them. We analyze interactions with our Sites so that we can better understand which elements of our Sites' design work well and which don't. This helps to improve and develop the quality of the online experience.

Consent – in some cases, we may ask for your consent before using your information.

 

3. WHEN DO WE COLLECT DATA ABOUT YOU?

  • When you visit our Site, use your account to purchase and/or rent products and services.

  • When you make an online purchase and make a payment as a guest (in this case, we only collect data related to your purchases).

  • When you create an account or profile with us.

  • When you sign up online to receive newsletters, blog posts, special offers, and other information;

  • When you participate in competitions, competitions or promotions that we may run.

  • When you choose to respond to surveys we send you.

  • When you comment on or review our products.

  • When you participate in our community or otherwise contribute content to our Sites, such as by posting content or commenting on a blog post.

  • When you interact with us on social media.

  • When you make an appointment with us for any type of event or when you make a reservation to attend an event.

  • When you contact us in any way – chat chat, email, text message, phone helpline for any reason, give us compliments, feedback or a request.

  • Where you have given permission to a third party to share data about you with us.

4. WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE USE IT?

Depending on how you interact with us (online, in-store, over the phone, etc.), we may collect various types of data about you which are described in more detail below. In some cases, we may combine one type of information with another type of information, and store it together in our records. However, in all cases, we strive to limit the amount of data we collect and store to what is necessary for the legal purpose for which we collect your data. We will let you know where possible whether the requested information is necessary or optional in order to be able to place an order, subscribe to our updates and offers, etc. If you refuse to provide us with information necessary to perform a service, we may not be able to provide you with the service in question.

4.1. INFORMATION PROVIDED WHEN YOU INTERACT WITH US
  • Personal Contact Information: This includes any information that could allow us to contact you, such as your name, postal or residential address, telephone number (home, mobile) or email address. In some cases, this could include information about someone else (for example, if you ask us to deliver a product to one of your friends). We typically collect personal contact information in connection with various activities such as account login (online shopping and community features, newsletter sign-up, etc.), product orders, customer service, contests and promotions. If you create an account with us, some of your personal contact information may be stored in your account profile.

  • Order and product information: this includes details of the products you have ordered or searched for online or in our stores, the time, date of orders and searches, the stores you prefer to visit (we have the latter information through purchases you make in our stores). We use this information to send you promotional emails and communications (with your consent), to make personalized product recommendations to you when you return to the Sites, to advertise (with your consent) when you visit other sites, and to better understand our customers in order to improve our products and the offline and online customer experience.

  • Demographic Information and Preferences: This includes any information that describes demographic characteristics and preferences such as age, gender, preferences, interests, date of birth, age or age range, general geographic location (e.g., zip code or city and country), preferred products, hobbies and interests, or information related to your lifestyle. We typically collect demographic information in connection with a variety of activities, including contests, promotions, promotions and customer surveys. We use this information to send you promotional emails and communications (with your consent), to make personalized product recommendations to you when you return to the Sites (with your consent), to advertise (with your consent) when you visit other sites, and to better understand our customers in order to improve our products and the offline and online customer experience.

  • Payment and Transaction Information: This includes any information you use when you place the order, including but not limited to your payment card details, gift card information, or other forms of payment offered. We only collect payment information when you make purchases (whether your purchase is made in-store, online, over the phone, or through a catalog). If you create an account with us (e.g., Shopping/Community account, etc.), your payment information (along with your purchase history and other associated preferences) may be stored in your account profile. We use this information to process your payments when you order products from us, to enable you to redeem a gift voucher or to give you a gift voucher and to save your payment information to enable you to pay faster if you wish. When we authorize you to purchase products and services on the Sites, payments made on the Sites are made through our payment service provider STRIPE or PayPal. You will provide credit or debit card information directly to these payment service providers who are responsible for encrypting your credit/debit card information and authorizing payment. The information you provide to STRIPE or PayPal is not under our control and is subject to their own privacy policies.

  • Recruitment information: This includes information that you provide when you submit an application online or during the recruitment process, such as your CV, cover letter, education and work experience, professional skills, languages and other relevant skills, and other information contained in one of your applications or provided as part of the online application process. We use this information in your general interest to evaluate applications and to take all necessary steps to conclude a possible contract with you.

  • Your Feedback: This includes information that you voluntarily share with us about your experience using our products or services. This information includes comments and suggestions, testimonials, or other feedback about what you liked (or disliked) during your experience using our products or services. We typically collect this information in the form of customer surveys, feedback forms, and email correspondence. We use your feedback to understand how our customers feel about our products and their experience with us, so that we can improve our products and the customer experience and, if you agree, so that we can discuss your feedback with you.

  • User-generated content and posts: This is content that you create and share with us (and possibly others) by uploading it to our Site, such as our social media pages. This content may include photos, videos, personal stories, or other similar media or content. We primarily collect customer-generated content in connection with contests and promotions, with website communities, with customer engagement, and with third-party social networks. This content may also include any other information that you choose to make public on our Site (e.g., information shared with other members of our user community).

4.2. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

When you interact with us through the Site, we use a variety of technologies (including cookies, as described below) to collect certain information (described below) regarding your visits to and use of the Sites. We use this data to better understand your needs and preferences so that we can provide you with a better online and in-store experience, to monitor and maintain our online infrastructure, and to improve our Site and applications generally.

Our Site uses cookies and/or other similar technologies such as device identifiers, pixel tags and/or web beacons to collect and store certain information. Typically, when using these technologies, pieces of information or code are transferred or accessed by a website to your computer's hard drive or to/on your mobile device to store and sometimes track information about you. Cookies and similar technologies allow you to be recognized when you use the same computer or mobile device to interact with websites and online services again and may be used to manage a range of features and content, as well as to maintain searches and offer personalized content, and to allow you to use your social media accounts in conjunction with the Site and allow us to show you advertising on our Site and other sites and applications.

In accordance with the information provided in the banner or in the notification that appears on the Site on your first visit, staying on the Site and consulting its pages will be considered as your consent to the use of the aforementioned cookies, in accordance with this Policy and the Cookie Policy.

You can change your browser to refuse the use of cookies and your page or a help manual will tell you how to do this. We also provide you with information on how you can disable cookies on the Cookie Policy page. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of our Website if you do so.

A number of cookies and similar technologies we use are only active for a period equal to the duration of your web or app session and expire when you close your browser or exit the app. Some cookies and similar technologies are active for a longer period of time because they are used to recognise you when you log in to our Site again.

4.3 . INFORMATION WE RECEIVE AND COLLECT FROM OTHER SOURCES

We may obtain information, including personal data, from third parties and sources other than our Site, such as our partners and advertisers. If we combine or associate information from other sources with personal data that we collect through the Service, we will treat the combined information as Personal Data in accordance with this Policy.

4.4. SOCIAL MEDIA PARTNERS AND ADVERTISING PARTNERS

We work with social media platforms and digital advertising platforms to show you advertising for our products and services on other social media sites and platforms. For example, if you show an interest in or purchase a product on our Site, we may advertise other products that may be of interest to you and you may see them on other sites, on Facebook or on other social networks. We wish to offer you by email (when you have consented) and on the Site during your visit, offers and promotions that are as relevant as possible to your interests. To help us get a better understanding of you as a customer, we may combine information about you collected across different channels, such as your online shopping history. For this purpose, we also combine the data we collect directly from you with the data we collect from third parties who have your permission to transmit this data to us. In doing so, we may put you into one or more customer categories that help us build our marketing and promotional strategies, and this category will in part dictate the promotional communications and recommendations you receive from us.

Our Sites may provide links to third-party sites (such as third-party social networks) that we do not own or control. If you click on these links or use these features, you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party sites, applications, or features.

Like most websites, our Site uses cookies and/or other similar technologies such as device IDs, pixel tags, or web beacons to collect and store certain information. 7. DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

LAQI is a company created in 2022, your trust is our priority. We will never rent, trade, or sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing use.

7.1 THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

We sometimes share your personal data with trusted third parties for the proper functioning of the service. These third parties assist us with several activities, for example, delivery, fraud management, complaint handling, assistance in personalizing our offerings, website, application development, hosting, maintenance, customer relationship management and promotional services for you. When we use one of these providers:

  • We only provide the information they need to perform their specific services.

  • They may only use your data for the purposes specified by us in our contract with them.

  • We work closely with these providers to ensure that your privacy is protected at all times.

For some providers, we need to transfer your information to locations outside the European Union, such as the United States.

7.2 LEGAL DISCLOSURES (IF NECESSARY)

We may share your information for law enforcement or other legal purposes. This type of sharing may be required in connection with a lawsuit, claim or investigation, government investigation, court order, enforcement of legal rights (e.g., contractual terms, intellectual property rights, etc.). a security risk or any other legal or similar security risk. The sharing of your information for these reasons is not regular but may occur from time to time. We will endeavour to limit the type and amount of information we may need to share for legal purposes to what is strictly necessary and will ensure that any transfer outside the European Union is made on the appropriate legal basis.

7.3 BUSINESS TRANSFER (E.G., SALE OR ACQUISITION OF A BUSINESS)

To the extent permitted by law, we may share (or receive) information about you, including your personal contact information, in the event of a merger, sale, corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, or any other similar event involving LAQI. If such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to require that your information be processed in accordance with this Policy, provided that it is feasible and permitted, and we will ensure that any transfer outside the European Union will be made on the appropriate legal basis.

8. HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

LAQI knows how important data security is to all our customers. We therefore take great care to process your data and take all appropriate measures to protect it. We demand the same from our suppliers with whom we share your data.

8.1 SECURE OPERATING ENVIRONMENTS

We secure access to all areas of our websites and apps using "https" technology.

8.2 ENCRYPTION/ENCRYPTION OF PAYMENT INFORMATION

Access to your personal data is password protected, and sensitive data (such as payment card information) is secured with SSL encryption.

 
8.3 OTHER SECURITY MEASURES

In addition to the methods described above, we may take other steps to protect your information, depending on the sensitivity of the data and other considerations (such as how the data is collected and stored). These measures may include (among other things) additional access restrictions, password requirements, and physical safeguards (e.g., secure data centers, etc.).

8.4 ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE

Despite our best efforts, no guarantee or safety standard guarantees 100% safety. It's also important that you keep your information safe. When signing up for an online account, make sure you choose a password that is difficult to guess and don't share it with anyone. If you are using a common or public computer, never ask for your username or password to be remembered and be sure to log out of your account each time you leave the computer.

Please note, however, that these protections do not apply to information that you choose to share publicly on social media, on our internet community, or on other social networks. We pay special attention to sensitive data, including payment card data, allergy or intolerance data, etc.

9. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We will retain your personal data for the period required to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. The criteria used to determine the retention period include: (i) the duration of our relationship with you; (ii) if there is a legal or commercial obligation to which we are subject; or (iii) if a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

10. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Under European data protection law, you have the right to request:

  • To have access to the personal data we hold about you.

  • To correct your personal data that is incorrect.

  • In certain specific cases, to have your personal data deleted.

  • That we stop using your data by withdrawing your consent at any time where our legal basis is consent or by objecting to the use of your data where our legal basis is legitimate interest and we have no legitimate interest, or once the purpose for which we hold the data has ceased.

  • In specific cases, we may restrict the processing of your personal data.

  • That we stop using your personal data for direct marketing.

To obtain a copy of the personal data you have provided to us, in a commonly used format, in order to transmit it to another data controller, where your data is subject to automated processing carried out on the basis of your consent or the performance of a contract.

You have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. To do so, please contact the Data Protection Officer whose contact details are available in Article 15. To request changes to your information, please update your account online or contact our Customer Service.

If we refuse to comply with your request, we will explain the reasons for our refusal.

To protect the privacy of your data, we will ask you to confirm your identity before acting on any request you make in accordance with this Policy. If you have authorized a third party to submit a request on your behalf and on your behalf, we will require that third party to prove that they have obtained your permission to act.

11. CHILD DATA

Our Sites are not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not solicit or collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have accidentally collected data from a child, we will delete that data from our records as soon as possible (or obtain the necessary parental consent to retain it).

12. INTERNATIONAL PRIVACY LAWS

This Policy describes our privacy principles but does not replace existing national legislation. This Policy complements national data protection legislation. Applicable national law supersedes this Policy in the event that deviations from this Policy are required or more stringent requirements are imposed. Likewise, the content of this Policy will apply in the event that no corresponding national legislation exists.

13. DISPUTE RESOLUTION / CONTACTING THE REGULATOR

If you have any complaints about our compliance with this Policy, please contact us first. We will investigate and attempt to resolve claims and disputes regarding the use and disclosure of personal data in accordance with this Policy.

If you feel that your data has not been properly processed, or if you are not satisfied with our response to requests you have made to us regarding the use of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), which is our "lead supervisory authority" under data protection law.
