Privacy policy
Who we are
The controller of your data is LAQI, a French SAS with a share capital of €15,234.50, registered in Paris under number 911 391 258, 61 rue de Lyon, 75012 Paris, France. For any question about your data: contact@laqi.co.
This policy explains what data we collect on laqi.co and in the laqi app, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it.
The data we collect
When you place an order: first and last name, delivery and billing addresses, e-mail, phone number, order contents and purchase history. Payment data is processed directly by our payment providers: we never have access to your full card number.
When you sign up for our e-mails or notifications: your e-mail address, your language and how you interact with our messages (opens, clicks).
When you leave a review: your name or nickname, your rating, your comment and, if you add them, your photos.
When you write to us: the content of your messages and the information needed to reply.
When you browse the website: technical data (pages viewed, device, browser, IP address, referrer) collected by cookies, according to your choices (see "Cookies").
When you use the laqi app: the settings needed to run your lights, i.e. the city chosen to calculate sunrise and sunset times, your wake-up and bedtimes, your spaces and paired products. The app communicates with your controller via Bluetooth, and the controller with the bulbs via Zigbee. These settings stay on your phone and on your controller: they are not sent to our servers and we have no access to them. The app does not require you to create an account.
Why we use it
To process and deliver your orders, and handle returns and customer service (performance of the contract).
To meet our accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation).
To send you our e-mails and notifications, if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each message.
To measure website traffic, improve the website and measure the effectiveness of our advertising, if you have accepted this through the cookie banner (consent).
To prevent fraud and secure payments (legitimate interest).
To run your lights: the app settings are used for this purpose only and stay on your devices.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We only share it with the service providers who help us run laqi, and only for what they need:
- Shopify: website hosting and order management;
- Shopify Payments, PayPal and Alma: payment, including payment in instalments;
- Sendcloud, Colissimo and Mondial Relay: parcel preparation and delivery;
- Klaviyo: sending our e-mails;
- Brevo PushOwl: browser notifications;
- Judge.me: collecting and displaying customer reviews;
- Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram): audience measurement and advertising, if you have accepted it;
- Pennylane: accounting;
- Mirakl: management of orders placed on partner marketplaces (Nature & Découvertes, Leroy Merlin), for those orders only.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States and Canada. These transfers are covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR: an adequacy decision of the European Commission (including the Data Privacy Framework for the United States) or standard contractual clauses.
We may also disclose data to the authorities where required by law.
Cookies
Some cookies are necessary for the website to work (cart, payment, language) and do not require your consent. Audience measurement and advertising cookies are only set with your consent, collected through the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind at any time via the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of the page. Your choice is kept for 13 months at most.
How long we keep it
- Order data: for the duration of the business relationship, then 10 years for accounting records (legal obligation);
- Marketing data (e-mails, notifications): until you unsubscribe, or 3 years after your last contact with us;
- Customer reviews: as long as they are published, unless you ask us to delete them;
- Customer service exchanges: 3 years after the last exchange;
- Cookies: 13 months at most;
- App settings: on your devices, until you erase them or uninstall the app.
Your rights
You can at any time access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict its processing, object to its use, request its portability and withdraw your consent. You can also give instructions on what should happen to your data after your death.
To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@laqi.co. We may ask you to prove your identity. We will reply within one month.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr), or with the supervisory authority of your country.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 15 without a parent's consent. If you think this has happened, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and service providers chosen for their security guarantees.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we change service provider or launch a new feature. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
